Hollywood Steps Out (1941)
“Hollywood Steps Out” (1941), directed by Tex Avery, takes us to Ciro’s and give us one last, highly caricatured glimpse at frivolous Hollywood glamour before the dark war years. How many stars can you name?
That's a hoot--there were several I didn't know; was that Cesar Romero (with very big feet) dancing with a red-head at one point? Peter Lorre had the best line of all I thought.
Welcome, Tom. It would have been nice to see Bob Hope, but I don't think he became a well-known celebrity until after this cartoon was made. Bob Hope really came into his own in the WWII era.

I think it was Romero. Someone pointed out on the IDMb site that of all them, only Mickey Rooney is still with us.
One of my favorites! I adore the cartoons that made fun of the stars.
Hi, Amanda. Yes, these parody cartoons were fun. I think I especially like the deadpan Greta Garbo cigarette girl.

Good point, Tom. Maybe Bob just couldn't get in to Ciro's that night. He should have told the guy at the door that he knew Jerry Colonna.
