It's a fascinating peek at the moment the film industry was just about to explode in popularity and influence in it's upcoming most productive and creative years -- and to see who the big stars were, especially with our hindsight of knowing whose careers would soon diminish, and who would prove to be more durable.
This lady was durable. We may hardly recognize this round-faced, silent screen flapper from her later more dramatic, even severe appearance. Joan Crawford was climbing to the top when this photo was taken (photo by Ruth Harriet Louise), but she had many more incarnations to go.

Still a popular guest at film festivals, lovely Ms. Blyth remains a treasure of the Hollywood's golden age.
