Fred MacMurray sings "I'm in the Market for You"
Before he was a Hollywood actor, Fred MacMurray was a saxophonist and a singer who entertains us here with the timely tune from 1930: "I'm in the Market for You"...
The first time I heard Fred sing was in a long-ago viewing of The Princess Comes Across. I think the song was about a concertina. His pal in the movie was played by William Frawley. They could not have imagined a classic sitcom in their future!
Wow, I never saw that one. I'm surprised the studios didn't tag him for more musicals. We know that lots of Hollywood actors came from the theatre, and some from radio, but I wonder how many there were that came from big bands? Bing, of course, and Rosemary Clooney, just off the top of my head.

ReplyDeleteI like Fred MacMurray,never was aware he could sing until I watched "The Happiest Millionaire" he was a very good singer! He was very talented
