Really her finest performance. Her scene where she quietly explains the real meaning of her dowry and what is means to have her own things about her, rends my heart. Thanks for posting.
She was all woman - a woman of substance - a woman of dreams! Her acting always delights and moves me..case in point, among many memorable roles like The Quiet Man, is her acting in The Long Gray Line....RIP...
JTL - Maureen-like scribe/blogger - your blog never ceases to amaze and inform me...classy!! But alas the font is too big! and the post history for quick access is buried on the right and so far down...have to scroll and scroll thru ads...or maybe its my slow computer...liked the older format better...just sayin
RG, I agree with your assessment of Maureen O'Hara's work and her film legacy. And thank you for the kind words. I'm sorry you feel the font is too big on the blog. I've gone back and forth on that, trying to figure out what's comfortable. Personally, I find the font size on most blogs I read to be too small for me. Of course, it's easy for a reader to adjust the font size you see on your computer but enlarging or reducing the image, so I suppose my having a large font isn't really necessary. I'll give it some thought.
As for the scrolling through the ads to reach the post history -- alas, that is the not-so-subtle trick of marketing. I shamefully admit I'm out for the buck. Sometimes. Thanks so much for your input, RG.
"Come a-runnin'? I'm no woman to be honked at and come a-runnin'!"

"Yes, ma'am."

ReplyDeleteA great movie, and she is the soul of it.
