He was like a one of those small firecrackers but he refused to burn out. As The Lady Eve says, we were lucky to have him so long. He must have known everyone. I wonder what it's like to outlive everyone you knew when you were younger. Lonely for sure. But he never let on.
So much talent (and energy) packed into that tiny frame - he was a bona fide legend. We were lucky to have him so long.

ReplyDeleteA poignant thought, indeed. I've known several people who've lived longer, even over 100, and losing one's contemporaries seems very hard.
