Shirley Temple 1928-2014

Always got a kick out of this routine with Shirley, Alice Faye, and Jack Haley from Poor Little Rich Girl (1936).  Sorry about the colorization.

  1. A full happy life well lived in which she did so much for others is nothing to be sad about but it is a loss for classic movie fans everywhere. Fortunately she wrote a very informative and entertaining autobiography to share all those memories with us. Also she didn't seem to have been ill for too long and was able to pass away at home surrounded by loved ones as it should be.

Loved her early films but my favorite of her filmography is The Bachelor and the Bobbysoxer. That movie hums like a well oiled machine.

  2. Yes, Joel, a life well lived. The little kid who got us through the Great Depression will be fondly remembered.

  5. Yeah, this is a pretty spiffy routine. Love the three of them together. Wonder how much rehearsal?

  6. One bonus of this clip is the ending credits and score, which are all too often cut off in modern screenings. Thanks for this clip!
