I feel such a sense of loss, yet will always have Miss Durbin's golden voice and peppy screen persona, which is all I ever had and will always be enough.
Jacqueline, although Deanna Durbin is no longer with us, her fans and friends will stay in our hearts. Jacqueline, Caftan Women, at least she retired at the top of her game and had a long, happy life with her husband in Paris (albeit she outlived him).
For the record, my favorite Deanna Durbin movie was the delightful comedy-thriller LADY ON A TRAIN:
Ladies, forget the TCM Cruise. What they should do is have a murder mystery vacation on a train. The three of us would show up! Until that day at least we still have "Lady on a Train".
Sign me up for the LADY ON A TRAIN Railroad! :-) Oh, what fun it was to ride on the train to West Palm Beach back when we'd visit my Mom in Florida. Pass the sunscreen and let's go to the beach! :-D
