Peter Cottontail -1950-51

Here’s a jazzy Peter Cottontail cartoon from 1950 or 1951, directed by Bobie Cannon, from UPA.

(Don't forget to scroll down to the bottom of the blog page and pause the usual soundtrack first.)

I suspect I'm not alone in my fondness for them. Especially the old ones.

Definitely not alone in your fondness for cartoons! We love 'em out in Idaho, too; & this is a good one. Are those really the original words to "Peter Cottontail"! Wow.

Hi, John. It's like a very early hint of the Beatnik culture later on in that decade. Not exactly a black beret he's wearing, but he is referred to as "cool".

Animation, jazz vocals and bunny rabbits. You made my day!

That's because you are one cool cat yourself, Caftan Woman.
