Meanwhile, Back at the Blog

Here are a few posts from fellow film bloggers in recent weeks I hope you enjoy:

Moira Finnie’s vignettes at TCM's Movie Morelocks on what the celebratory end of the year is like at various periods in Hollywood, along with several terrific clips of old movie outtakes.

A penetrating commentary of “Triumph of the Will” at The Sun is Not Yellow.

Charles Lane appears in a series of episodes on early TV on Classic Television Showbiz. Any blog with Charles Lane in it has got to be good.

Thank you for sharing your finds. I hadn't run across the "Classic Telelvisoin Showbiz" blog before and now housework will never get done!

Charles Lane has a delightful turn as Admiral Standley in the two miniseries The Winds of War and War and Remembrance. Talk about and actor's actor!

Thank for that, K. I just love spotting Charles Lane in anything, but he sort of did always seem to be playing the same persnickity character, didn't he?

Hey, thanks for the shout out, Jacqueline! I find some of those bloopers from old movies a cheering reminder that "imperfections" of speech have been with us forever.

Though it's hard to choose, I loved Charles Lane best as the Tax Man in "You Can't Take it With You."

Thanks for those great bloopers. And I agree, it's hard to choose a "best" Charles Lane performance, mainly because he was so reassuringly the same in just about every movie he appeared.

But, he stood up to the evil Mr. Potter, so it's fair to say "You Can't Take it With You" was perhaps his most heroic persona.
