Movie Horses

Tex Ritter rode “White Flash.”

Gene Autry rode “Champion.”

Tom Mix rode “Tony.”

Roy Rogers rode “Trigger.” (Here’s a short piece from YouTube with Trigger doing a little dance.)

The Lone Ranger rode “Silver.”

Hopalong Cassidy rode “Topper.”

Can you take it from here? What about the Cisco Kid? What about Red Ryder? What are some famous horse sidekicks you remember?

Don't forget some of the non-western horses-

Seabiscuit
National Velvet
and we cannot forget High Hat- the Marx Brother's horse in A Day at the Races! Not that I am biased.

Very good, Mr. Loophole. With the Kentucky Derby looming upon us this weekend, we should remember all our equine friends with or without cowboys.

Wow! Great topic.

The Cisco Kid's horse was Diablo. Pancho rode Loco.

Red Ryder was up on Thunder, and Little Beaver (played by Robert Blake in the movies) rode Papoose.

(Above info from IMDB and Wikipedia.)

Howdy, Pardner! Thanks for stopping by and filling in the blanks. I don't think I knew the name of Little Beaver's horse. That's good. This kind of reminds me of that scene in "A Christmas Story" when Ralphie's father tries to answer a contest question about the Lone Ranger's nephew's horse, and his mother knew the answer.
